Lorena Fontaine

(LL.B, LL.M) is Cree-Anishnabe from the Sagkeeng First Nation in Manitoba. Lorena is an Associate Professor in the Department of Indigenous Studies at the University of Winnipeg. She is also a doctoral candidate at the University of Manitoba. Her research is on Aboriginal Language Right in Canada. Currently, Lorena is an Equality Rights Panel Member of the Court Challenges Program, a Board Member of the Legacy of Hope Foundation and editor for ab-Original: Journal of Indigenous Studies and First Nations’ and First Peoples’ Cultures, Penn State University Press.
