Acting Executive Director and Counsel for The Manitoba Human Rights Commission
Isha Khan is currently the Acting Executive Director and Counsel for The Manitoba Human Rights Commission. In this role, she oversees the Commission’s complaint process and human rights education mandate. In her role as Counsel, she advises on the investigation of complaints and disposition of complaints by a Board of Commissioners. She also represents the public’s interest in adjudication hearings, working closely with complainants to prove their complaints of discrimination. She obtained her law degree from the University of Victoria and is called to the British Columbia, Alberta and Manitoba bars. She has chaired the Review Tribunal for CPP disability benefits and practiced as a labour and employment lawyer in Calgary. She is a sessional instructor at the University of Winnipeg’s Global College and sits on the Board of Trustees of the United Way of Winnipeg and is Vice- Chair of their Community Investment Committee.
